"I'm another king and a robber
I'm a brother trampling on your dreams
Before they stand in the way of mine"

--Lovex, "Anyone Anymore"

I'm going to make a ~fancy timeline~ someday that has ages and context for all of this, etc. But since Papyrus's AU is pretty well-fleshed-out already, I thought I'd make a CliffsNotes version for now.

OOC ☼ Infodump: AU Origins
This is a strange AU that gets stranger and more developed every time I think about it. I don't expect anyone to actually care where I'm coming from with this, but if anyone wants to read a big long ramble about the way my mind works, well…click that cut right there.

OOC ☼ Infodump: Papyrus, Sex, & Gender
"I could be anything you want me to be
Cook you nice dinners, and then gently rub your feet
I could be the perfect wife, and be your slave for life...
…But I won't!!"

-Ana Johnsson, "Coz I Can"

This is disproportionately long. I doubt she'll do much more than creep and flirt in the DR because I want playing with her to be fun for people, not skeevy. )

OOC ☼ Astrology
I don't trust the archaeological proof behind anything I looked up about ancient Egyptian astrology in the five minutes I spent giving Papyrus a birthday, so I'm not citing it...but I did find several sites that either were drawing on the same sources or had all just copied from each other which listed the "sign" of Sekhmet spanning the equivalents of July 29 - August 11 and October 30 - November 7. The description of "Sekhmet" people seemed to match a Thief Queen well - proud, rivalrous, commandeering - and overlaps both in some of the dates and descriptions with "modern" astrology's Leo.

Figuring Leo is as good a sign as any, and taking decanates into account (the divisions of 3 segments within each sign), I gave Papyrus a birthday of our August 8th. This puts her in the decanate ruled by Jupiter, which will lend a certain intellectual/philosophical bent to the individual in question (appropriate, again).

That it's also Dilandau Albatou and Hikaru Shidou's birthday, and that I have "88" in a lot of my IM addresses, is pure icing on picking that particular date. What can I say? It just felt right.
